“I believe that all children can learn regardless of previous academic performance or challenges. Working in partnership with families, I strive to build confidence and self-esteem through successful learning experiences that meet your child’s unique needs. Through an individual program, your child will strengthen foundational skills while also developing the ability to reason, problem solve, and think critically. My goal is for your child to realize his or her potential as a learner.” Donna Linzey
About Donna Linzey – An Irvine Ca. K-6 Reading, Writing & Math Tutor
Thank you for visiting Irvine A+ Tutoring, servicing the residents of Irvine and Orange County. Sometimes looking for a tutor can be an overwhelming process, so I would like to make this process a little easier and less stressful by briefly introducing my background and qualifications for working with your child.
My name is Donna Linzey. I grew up in Orange County and now live in Irvine with my family. I am a knowledgeable educational professional with 20 years of experience working with elementary students. My husband is also a veteran second grade teacher of 30 years. Our son attends Woodbridge High School where he enjoys playing in the Marching Band. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are reading, running, taking long walks with my dogs, going to the beach, and spending time with friends over a cup of coffee. Teaching children and helping them to realize their potential has brought me great joy over the years. I am a lifelong learner and am dedicated to making learning meaningful, positive, and successful for my students.
I foster an environment that engages students and encourages them to see learning as relevant to their lives, their communities, and their world. I believe in the potential of all students and recognize that children possess unique learning styles and preferences. I will take the time to get to know your child and to create an individualized tutoring plan that meets his or her specific needs.
I hold advanced degrees in the fields of education and reading from the Claremont Graduate University and California State University, Fullerton, as well as a Multiple Subject and Reading/Language Arts Specialist Credential from the state of California. For the past 11 years, I have worked for the Irvine Unified School District as an Intervention Teacher, providing focused instruction to students who need academic support. The scope of my responsibilities have included designing integrated language arts and math programs to meet the individual needs of students; assessing learners and modifying instruction; providing reading and math remediation; and building competencies in higher level thinking skills in reading, writing, and math.
I look forward to sharing my joy of learning with you and your child!
